Congratulations to our friends at Unity for their nomination for Osocio’s ‘Innovation of the Year’ with their ‘Sound Off For Justice’ campaign which Finish was pleased to be a part of.

We created animated audio symbols on two cleverly interactive virals and hi res versions for posters. All with the aim of drawing attention to the UK governments proposed cuts to Legal Aid.

Osocio is the ultimate blog for best of non-profit advertising and marketing for social causes.

We love Instagram here at Finish so much so we’ve started a two weekly photo theme competition. There’s no real prize, just pure pride!

If you’re an Instagram nut like us and want to join in there are a few rules to adhere to:

  • Take a picture (iPhone’s only!) of the running theme.
  • Tag #finishtv when you upload your photo/s so it comes up in the feed of entries.
  • Photos must be taken within the weeks the theme runs (no re-archiving please)
  • Don’t hashtag your user name as then it won’t be anonymous!
  • Check on our Facebook page HERE for the winners and the next theme. We can also add you to the email out so get in touch!

We’re thrilled that the SIRE ‘Marked For Life’ film has won two silvers at this years Eurobest and Epica awards! A huge congratulations to everyone involved on such a worthy campaign.

Created by 180 Amsterdam and directed by Partizan’s Ariel Kleimann the campaign aims to raise awareness about the effects of ‘bad’ divorce on children and how the unkind words that parents may say in front of them during the stress of a separation can stay with them for life.

We commissioned ex-commercials director and video artist Doug Foster to produce an original work for our large window frontage on Wardour Street.

Stopping passers-by in their tracks, the installation ‘Convolver’ takes advantage of the existing grid structure of the window by using a moving image for it that is similarly fractured. Foster divided the central twenty-seven panes into nine horizontally spaced time delay zones so as you walk past the twisting coils of light waft in your wake.

Using lights, movement and animation to create an impressive piece of content is something that we hold very close to our heart. As we worked on the new Finish website which now showcases all our previous projects including how we made them and our inspirations, we wanted to express our passion for moving content elsewhere too. So along came Doug! We’d seen his work before and had been impressed, and he was keen to create an original piece which suited Finish and its surrounds

The film strives to draw attention to the window in a gentle way without imposing itself too much on the busy Soho street. “I like to think it is a bit of calm and reflection in the midst of the madness,” said Foster today.

The work was made by filming a variety of lighting effects, liquids and moving textures. The multiple image post production was completed by Jason Watts here at Finish.

“Convolver” is the second Windows project by Finish since it moved to Wardour St in 2010. Our first installation featured the work of designer and illustrator Anthony Burrill.

Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate last Thursday night!
We hope you had as much fun as us.

At last we got to celebrate moving into Wardour St and launched our own digital installation space with Doug Foster’s latest work. You don’t need to set foot in the door to see it, just walk past the front window (preferably mid afternoon when the sun is going down) and you can’t miss it.

Everyone who RSVP’d to the party submitted their top party tune. Before and after the DJ’s Smooth Sailing came on we played as many of the tunes as we could. The resulting playlist ROCKED! We are sorry if you didn’t hear your tune on the night, but a total of 98 tracks coming to a total of 7 hrs listening time were submitted!!!

However if you have Spotify you can check out the full list here!

Enjoy

In this News section we’ll be sharing with you projects you may not have seen as well as behind the scenes articles or other interesting news from Finish and our clients.

The other new features on this site include; HD full screen playback of our work, a search option on each page for the whole site and Clips, which allows you to compile a playlist which you can save for future reference or email.

We’ve settled into our new facility on Wardour Street and the extra space has allowed us to expand with four Flame suites and seven Nuke work stations. Headed up by our senior Flame artists Jason Watts, Steve Murgatroyd and Paul Wilmot (who joined us last year).

Along with an expanded 2D department we also have additional 3D work stations which include Maya, Houdini, Massive and Real Flow amongst others, with the team being headed up by Harin Hirani.

Finish producer Cheryl Payne has done it again by designing the cover of this month’s Televisual magazine which features the Top 30 Commercials production companies. Payne’s cover was also chosen last year. In the last few years post companies have been asked to enter designs for the Top 50 post houses edition of which Finish designer Paul Wright’s cover was selected for in the first year of the competition.

Finish also make the Top 10 most used and most rated post companies.

Payne choreographed a series of photographs taken here in the office which were printed out and placed in the shape of a 30 then re photographed for the November cover. “Since I am surrounded by post production all day I decided it would be a fun challenge to make the number 30 without using any computers” says Payne.
If you look closely you might also recognise the person in the photos :)
