Big Noise
Specsavers
This 30 second commercial is the first for Specsavers hearing aids. Shot in London and directed by Rattling Stick’s Sara Dunlop, this humorous spot depicts the effect an excessively loud drum & bass track has on the residents of a street. The foundations and residents are shaken by the pumping bass line and the culprit turns out to be a sweet little old lady who isn’t wearing a hearing aid so consequently doesn’t realise she’s the cause.
The track used for the commercial was recorded by local music technology students who feature in the ad. When asked what music they wanted to hear coming from the car, the students put forward their own track – ‘Get Mad Now’.
In Flame Jason Watts applied invisible clean-up such as moving and retimming cars, widening steets and bouncing the culprits car in time to the music. Also combining plates of smashing glass in the bus shelter.
